Clothing Initiatives
Making sure EVERY child in foster care In Yavapai County has adequate and appropriate clothing through our Emergency clothing and Supplemental clothing programs.
Emergency Clothing
Many children who are removed from their homes and placed into DCS custody arrive wearing only the clothes on their backs. Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation provides the Department of Child Safety (DCS) with funds for these children so they can be properly clothed immediately upon removal from their parents.
Prescott DCS caseworkers and CASAs can utilize this program by accessing the clothing gift cards Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation drops off quarterly.
Supplemental Clothing
The state of Arizona provides foster children with $150 for clothing each year. This amount is inadequate, especially for growing children. To make sure every youth in care has adequate clothing, Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation provides a bi-annual clothing supplement for all youth in foster care under the jurisdiction of the Prescott Courts.
Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation gives these clothing gift cards to the Department of Child Safety to distribute in the Spring and Winter season.
