Family Visitation Center
About the F.V.C.
When a youth enters foster care, reunification with their families is often the end goal of the courts, when safe and possible. Supervised visitation with the youth is one of the many steps parents must take in order to permanently reunite with their child(ren).
In Yavapai County, there aren’t many dedicated places for families in this situation to meet which results in visits being held in public spaces, like parks, where privacy, protection from the elements, and a quality visit are made difficult.
The primary purpose of Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation’s Family Visitation Center (FVC) is to provide a safe, homelike, environment for children in foster care to have supervised visits; supporting the family’s healing process.
The secondary function of the FVC is to provide agencies and youth currently/formerly involved with the foster care system with a safe meeting space for mentorship, birthdays, etc.
